When I was a child just about all my toys were either Star Wars figures or models. In fact just about every toy I had as a child was something to do with Star Wars. I had probably the whole collection and little did I know how much they worth or I wouldn’t have sold them!

Twenty years on and I’m now in the process of rebuilding my collection of action figures and toys. In this era we live in, the internet is making the job a whole lot easier. With eBay and several specialized websites delivering worldwide live listings of Star Wars auctions it’s fun and easy tracking down all the old Star Wars figures that I used to own.

With the arrival of the newer films like The Phantom Menace, there are a lot more action figures to collect. While I do intend to collect these, it’s the original figures that I used to own as a child, are the ones that I really want.

Even some of the most rare and hard to find Star Wars figures like the original Yoda, Chewbacca and Han Solo in Hoth gear. They can all be picked up a lot cheaper than at local toy stores or collectors shops.

If you still have your action figures and models, do you realize how valuable they are? There are people all over the world willing to pay good money for them. And, if you’re like me and want to rebuild your collection then there are some great places on the internet that specialize in this type of memorabilia.

I’ve managed to pretty much rebuild my whole collection of Star wars memorabilia mainly from one excellent website that has all the live worldwide eBay listings. It’s easy to find any piece of Jedi, Rebel Alliance and Imperial memorabilia!

Go to http://barkingdolphin.com/star-wars-memorabilia/ now and see for yourself.

Star Wars is a movie well loved by people of all ages, young and old. Avid Star Wars fanatics will possibly choose to mimic any one of the characters in Star Wars for the Halloween. In addition to that, you would want to appear realistic and exactly mimic the characters by getting yourself a Star Wars FX lightsaber. The process of acquiring one for yourself is not as easy as going to a discount store, looking and picking out the lightsaber that you like. The replica of a lightsaber can be costly and if you are tight on the budget, there are Star Wars Fx lightsaber kits to help you makeyour own lightsaber at a lesser price. With this, it’s not difficult to act like a real Jedi Knight.

You might wonder why you have to go through all the trouble in buying a kit and making the weapon with your own hands while you can just purchase a ready made lightsaber? Like what was mentioned earlier, the ready made lightsaber is quite expensive and your most practical option is to really make one by yourself. Although it’s tedious, it is somehow rewarding, that at the end of the day, you know you will always take pride over your efforts and creativity in making your very own lightsaber. That’s part of being a real Jedi Knight. Additionally, the kit allows you to be creative and give your weapon a personal touch. You can modify the assembling of the lightsaber so that you can create the one you truly wanted to have. So prepare yourself and get ready to finally build your own Star Wars Fx Lightsaber.

What’s in store for you in the kit?

Any brand of Star Wars Fx Lightsaber kit will provide you with similar contents. It includes a saber unit and battery compartment. Also enclosed in the package are few plastic handles, plastic switches, pommels made of metal and some emitter housings together with screws to allow you to put the pieces together. These kits are packed with some interesting features like those ready made and expensive lightsabers. Here are the qualities that might interest you:

You will gain similar powers like the ones on the films since the blade radiates the same way with that in the movie even though the light may not be that intense.

The Lightsaber assembled with the materials of the kit likewise, with the expensive lightasaber, has those special sound effects as heard in the movies.

The kits also included in them motion sensors that will create specific sound effects like power up and down and clash.

The materials used in the kits are also durable. Although it may not be as expensive as the ready made ones, the quality of this kit made lightsaber has not been compromised. You can even customize a variety of weapons till you find the one that suits you best.

You can change colors anytime you want to as this lightsaber’s blade is multi-colored. It has red, green and blue colors that you can choose from compared to its counterparts which has only one color.

Becoming a True Jedi this Halloween need not be expensive as purchasing a Star Wars Fx lightsaber. You can settle for the affordable kits and still look exactly like the character from the movie.

There is a large variety of boys Star Wars costumes available if you know where to look. Some are more common than others, but all are fantastic options. In this article, 3 uncommon costume ideas are discussed.

1. Deluxe Clone Trooper: Remember watching Star Wars for the first time and seeing those super cool stormtroopers marching in perfect lines. Before the stormtroopers, were the clone troopers who at the time represented the future of galactic warfare. In Episode II: Attack of the Clones, these troopers were clad in extremely hard white armor and had a distinctive look similar to the stormtroopers, only cooler. For all of those young Star Wars fans out there, there are many costumes to choose from, but the Deluxe Clone Trooper costume is very popular thanks to the prequel movies. While it is not a common costume, like Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker, boys will enjoy dressing in this costume and march and run around like a galactic warrior.

2. Plo Koon Child Costume: This Jedi Master was not nearly as well known as Yoda, but Plo Koon was a “force” to be reckoned with, no pun intended. Plo Koon appeared in all of the prequel movies as well as the Clone Wars. Recognizable by his alien head that was partially concealed by a face mask. This costume is a hooded and robed costume with belt and boot covers, and makes for an intimidating looking costume. Boys who have seen the movies will no doubt know this Jedi Master, even if he is less common than Yoda. After all, any costume that is very realistic and allows them to yield their favorite light saber is a great costume for young boys.

3. Clone Wars Commander Fox: The Clone Wars is an animated series and Commander Fox is the leader of the clone troopers squad that rescues the senator, Padme Amidala. This costume is one that boys will want for Halloween; take it out trick or treating and then you will be sure to see them dressed in it time and time again just for fun. This costume features the white body armor with unique crimson color accents. These accents make this costume completely unique and boys who are a fan of Clone Wars will have a “blast” with this costume.

In this article we discussed 3 uncommon Star Wars costume ideas. There are so many boys Star Wars costumes to choose from, all of them are fun and exciting to dress up in, but consider the less ordinary costumes for your kids this year.

Welcome to the second installment of a series of Star Wars Trivia articles. This second article will list the moons and asteroids from the highly acclaimed Star Wars saga (from E to K).

Ebaq 9

Situated in the deep core of the known galaxy, Ebaq 9 is the 9th moon to the gas giant planet Ebaq. The New Republic used Ebaq 9 as a base to lure the Yuuzhan Vong squadron to their ultimate defeat by the New Republic in the battle of Ebaq 9.

Forest Moon of Endor

Home to the Ewoks, the forest moon of Endor featured heavily in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Sometimes simply referred to as Endor, the moon and its natives played a decisive part in the Galactic Civil War. In Episode VI the Rebel Alliance’s annihilation of the 2nd Death Star happened in Endor’s orbit.

Gerrard V

One of the moons of the Gerrard system, Gerrard V’s terrain includes rich red deserts and yellow and green seas and rivers.

Kethor

Kethor orbits the planet Kothis. It is responsible for the production of the Kothin fighters, bombers and warships. The Kothis Engineering Company (KEC) provides a ferry between Kothis and Kethor to deliver the ship makers to their place of work.

Kohlma

A small moon which orbits the planet Bogden. It is a very dark country and is often prone to heavy rain and dense fog. This is quite an apt atmosphere for Kohlma as across large parts of its surface, you will discover many tombs and shrines of victims from the cataclysmic war of many years ago. The savage Bando Gora cult once called Kohlma home.

Kr

Hiding place to the insectoid sentient species known as the Gorog, Kr orbits Qorribu. The moon has a blanket of gas which offers a good hiding place for the Gorogs.

Do you remember the first time you saw Star Wars? I do. I remember sitting in the cinema and almost jumping outta my skin when that first ever Star Destroyer burst onto the screen as it chased the Corellian Corvette above Tattooine. Right from that first moment I’ve been a Star Wars fan and I’m sure lots of you reading this remember that exact same moment too. That’s when you “love affair” with Star Wars really began right?

George Lucas was and is a clever guy. Years later when I was all grown up the many other movies that influenced this smash hit movie became known to me. Everything from Kurosawa movies to British World War II movies had become part of this sci-fi epic. That’s part of the genius of his work though – he didn’t try to reinvent the wheel. He just picked a lot of different spokes to add to it and every single one added color and depth to the final movie.

What’s even more amazing is that as far as most critics were concerned this movies was going to be a flop. Lucas was really concerned about this so the movie was made under the title of Blue Harvest to keep prying eyes away and to keep the movie sounding as bland and boring as possible. Remember up to this point Lucas was pretty much unknown with the only movie he’d made worth talking about being American Graffiti (we won’t talk about THX1138…) so he knew he had a lot to prove.

There was also the problem that up to this point sci-fi movies had never really done well at the box office. They did “ok” but never really scored a massive success. Even when Kubrick released 2001 it didn’t set audiences on fire. But that was all about to change.

So finally the movie was finished $3,000,000 over budget and released by a nervous movie studio. And it became an overnight hit. Not just a hit. It became a craze with people queuing to watch the movie for the 5th, 10th and 20th time. The movie appealed to so many people on so many levels that it was destined to be a success and the numbers proved it.

The demand for Star Wars toys was almost immediate and the toy company Kenner were give rights to produce the first range of toys. What they didn’t expect was the absolutely insane demand for any and all types of Star Wars collectibles. That craze has gone on right up to the today with many Star Wars fans (including myself there) always looking for the latest collectible or gadget to add to your collections or to buy as gifts for siblings or nieces and nephews. This is just to make sure the Star Wars legacy lives on forever – as it should be.

One of the most powerful images in Star Wars is the lightzzzsaber and after years of searching for real lightsabers I did manage to find some that looked, sounded and felt the part. Click here if you want to see Star Wars replica lightsabers in action.

The Star Wars Holiday Special was long thought to be just a myth. It couldn’t possibly be true, could it? Could George Lucas really have forced his stars to go on prime time television to act in a musical story about Chewbaca’s family? It had to be a lie. And even if it was true, it couldn’t have been as bad as the rumors said. George Lucas is a genius, after all.

And then came the internet, along with computers that could convert analog VHS tapes to digital video. And finally: YouTube. The world rejoiced even as Darth Lucas braced himself for the worst: The Holiday Special was going to be discovered after all!

Most people I talk to have still never heard of the Star Wars Holiday Special. This is a healthy fact, actually, because the film was every bit as awful as was reported. Worse, actually. But still, the world needs to know! You do, too.

In a nutshell, The Holiday Special was half variety show, half story. The “story” was about a Christmasy Wookie holiday called Life Day. No explanation is given as to the origin of Life Day. One can only assume it had to do with a Jedi coming to save the residents of Hoth in the form of an Ewok. “The Banthas are lowing, the baby awakes…”

Anyway, Chewbaca is doing his best to get home to his family in time for the Life Day Snuggy Rituals, but he is delayed by Vader’s forces. If the footage of Vader and the pursuit looks familiar, that’s because it was lifted directly out of the original Star Wars film. Why Lucas thought this was a good idea is anyone’s guess. The original blockbuster Star Wars movie had only just left the theaters, so audiences couldn’t possibly have been fooled.

While the Millenium Falcon is fighting its way through the bad guys, we the viewers are left waiting with Chewey’s mind-numbingly boring family. They have names like “Itchy,” Lumpy,” and “Farty.” Okay, not Farty, but it isn’t that far fetched is it? Chewy’s family is worried sick about him, so Art Carney brings in a horde of 1970′s celebrities to entertain them. Among these are Bea Arthur and Jefferson Starship, in some of the least inspired performances ever witnessed in that part of the galaxy. There is also a Star Wars cartoon, a circus full of miniature acrobats, and a holographic dancing woman who “entertains” Chewy’s dad. Itchy is a dirty old Wookie.

When Chewy and Han Solo finally arrive, they have to hustle to get to the festival as soon as possible, because they discover Princess Leah will be performing the annual Life Day Carol. The song is sung to the tune of John Williams’s famous Star Wars Theme Music. And just when it is all getting really confusing, the participants start marching single file through outer space. Only then does the hurting comes to an end.

Now that the Star Wars Holiday Special is so readily available, I think we all owe it to ourselves to sample it. If nothing else, let’s do it for George, who is still frightfully embarrassed over it, and would rather we all forget it. But until he offers the public an apology for Jar Jar Binx, I cannot take his feelings too seriously. Happy Life Day, Mr. Lucas! And thanks for the laughs.

“These are not the droids you are looking for”, while quoted from Obi-Wan Kenobi, these may as well be the same words you hear from the toy store clerk when you ask to see their line up of Star Wars Lego sets.

Rare Star Wars Lego sets are better off sought online instead of having to go through every single toy store in the state, and it is a good as a lead from Dex. Of course, if you can spare some galactic credits, you should also consider visiting toy conventions such as the ones held in San Diego each year.

The best way to determine if the Lego set or figure you are looking for is rare is to check its production and retail availability. The first sign of a rare Star Wars Lego set or figure is if it is no longer being produced. While it is perfectly possible to assemble Star Wars vehicle or figure with existing parts, owning the set matter because you also have the original packaging with the exact pieces needed. As with all Jedi, you must carefully choose which Ilum crystal you use.

In cases where only a limited number of a set has been produced, expect that the cost of the item will increase as the years go by. Each passing year provides ample chance of a number of any limited sets to meet unfortunate situations which would lower its value. Every year that a set survives intact increases its rarity. In the span of less than a decade, roughly as much as it takes for a Kaminoan clone to mature, that cost of a single set may increase to over ten or even twenty times its original value.

That is why you should be as prudent as an imperial senator when selecting or purchasing a rare Star Wars Lego figure or set. Always give yourself ample time to study and research the item and what it should contain. A set may easily lose its value if it has missing parts, which is why one must always be careful to double check with the inserts to determine the exact number of parts available in any Lego set. These inserts also serve as checklists for the consumers and collectors.

Boba Fett would not bring in a bounty dead if it costs more alive, neither should you. Always keep your Lego figures complete and in good condition so that they do not lose their value as time passes. The boxes, original packaging and the inserts should also be well preserved and be without stains, discolorations, scratches, molds and fading. Keep the sets out of direct sunlight and humidity. These ensure that your sets are as well kept as Han Solo in carbonite.

Finally, always trust in your own instinct. It worked for Luke, it should work for you. When a deal seems to good to be true, or you feel doubt regarding the details of an exchange or a transaction, then you should have the strength of will to just turn around and walk away. If you have done your research and feel reasonably happy with the terms, then you can proceed with your purchase without worry.

If you have a son or daughter who knows every line that Yoda says in the Empire Strikes Back, or who has a collection of action figures from the all the Star Wars movies, then this article about Star Wars Wall stickers is for you. Specifically you’ll find out about the benefits of kids wall decals like their durability, decoration themes, and how they inspire. You’ll know by the time you finish it why you should add wall graphics to your gift list for your kids.

Star Wars is an Inspiration for Generations

I can still remember coming out of the theater after seeing Stars Wars for the first time as a kid. It was the greatest thing I’d ever seen. I was totally inspired by the characters. I put up all kinds of posters about Star Wars.

Today, wall decals for kids have replaced the posters of the past. As a kid after seeing Stars Wars for the first time, I would have given anything for larger than life vinyl wall decals of C3PO and Chewy. And if your kids are as inspired as I was, they will too.

Decorating Using the Force

Your kids might be tempted to try some Jedi mind tricks to move their wall graphics from one spot in their rooms to another. However, the recommended method is to use the liner, tube and roller that came with your Star Wars wall decals to take it down and put it back up again.

The best thing is though that removable wall decals have a low adhesive backing that is designed to allow them to be taken down and put back up again repeatedly. So any time your kids want to rearrange their rooms, it’s no problem to move their wall graphics.

Getting an entire decorating theme going is one of the strong points of these decals. Adding an image of Darth Vader or Boba Fett to their ensemble of Star Wars sheets, blanket sets and Under Roos is a great way to round out the collection.

The Force is Strong in Star Wars Wall Decals

If you’re going to get a great present like these you want to know that they’ll be able to stand up to the action of any clone war battles that they might be thrown into. And they will. Wall decals for kids are made of durable vinyl, which are scratch and scuff resistant. And they’re also fade resistant to stand up to some direct sunlight.

They’re also easy to take care of. If they do see some battle action with any dirt or food, don’t worry. Just get a soft and lightly damp cloth and wipe them down gently. Get a second soft dry cloth like an old T-shirt and wipe them down to dry them. And you’re good to go.

May the Force Be With You… and Your Walls

So now you know what you’ll get when you present your kids with some wall graphics of their own. You’ll get a welcome addition to their room décor, inspiration for years to come, and unique life size decorations that will stand up over the years to the wear and tear that kids dish out.

And you’ll no doubt get one more thing – some pretty happy kids!

Your son’s bedroom will be out of this world when decorated with Star Wars Wall Stickers. At wallstickers-decals.com all the popular Star Wars characters are available along with other Kids Wall Decals.
