When I think of all the Star Wars movies, I think of the Death Star, the characters and certain scenes. But the #1 thing I think of is the iconic Millennium Falcon! Think about it, it appears in almost every S.W. movie. You say Millennium Falcon and even the most luke warm fans know you are talking about the famous ship that ran the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. Okay, maybe they don’t know that detail, but still, they know what you are talking about.

For those who don’t know, the Millennium Falcon ship belongs to the smuggler Han Solo who won it in a game from Lando Calrissian. Han Solo was played by Harrison Ford and Lando was portrayed by Billy Dee Williams. Two of my most favorite actors. Han Solo is the reason I developed a huge crush on Harrison Ford when I was seven years old. Sigh. Ahem! Sorry, when I start thinking about Star Wars stuff, I start reminiscing about my childhood.

The thing I really like about the Lego Millennium Falcon model is not only how detailed and true to the movie the ship is, but the fact that I and my best friend got to reminisce about the movies and how they affected us, among other things, while we built it together. Another friend joined us while we were working on it and helped for several hours. Without his help, it would probably have taken us about 50 hours to build! Instead, it took about 40 hours.

Obviously this is not a Star Wars model for someone with a really short attention span. Unless you don’t mind it taking more than 50 hours to complete. I think it is a great Lego toy and worth all the effort. The finished ship looks amazing! It is large though, so make sure you have enough space to display it and believe me, you will want to display it! All that work deserves to be shown off.
